Celtic fans were left jubilant this afternoon as Ange Postecoglou masterminded a 3-2 victory in the Glasgow derby.

Despite not being at the top of their game, the Hoops still tasted victory and whilst there were a number of players who weren’t their best, a few stood out.

Kyogo undoubtedly caught the eye for his brace along with Jota for his attacking contributions however it was right back Alistair Johnston who was awarded the in-stadium man of the match.

The Canadian was tremendous at right back, getting stuck into tackles and bombing up and down the right.

It was Johnston’s third derby since joining Celtic in January and he is only thriving in green and white.

Week on week, Johnston gets more than pass marks and is one of the Hoops’ most consistent performers.

He has been a terrific signing and more than ample replacement for Josip Juranovic, his performance today adding even more testament to that.

  1. We have become a wee bit stale maybe it’s the state of pitches mooy off the pace jota was well marked when celtic had the ball opposition had 11 men behind the ball then slow build up celtic tried to hard to make the killer pass Johnston was very good ccv and starfelt were steady but or passing helped the opposition up the park tillman spent the game trying to get fouls a players sent off cantwell poor there is nothing in that team to frighten me set if the get deadball freekicks and corners morelos non goal I thought it was Jack on goalkeeper you can’t touch the goalie not block but hold him back never was celtic would have stepped it up and won at the end I’ve seen slow unfit players I’d love to see a sprint between morelos and Allen McGregor embarrassing especially centre forward

  2. We sold a right back for £10 million and as far as I am concerned we have bought a better one, younger, stronger, better defensively and far happier to be here.

Ange has been great with signings. Bring them in and if they think they are better and want to go then sell them for a profit and bring in better.

I am all for Abada & Maeda leaving in the summer as they are both not champions league quality as they show earlier this season. I hope the rumours are true that Celtic are going to give Ange £24 million for 3 top players in another centre half, midfielder and centre forward.

Also Mikey Johnson’s performances in Portugal has shown that we have already a replacement if Abada goes.
