Celtic have entered talks to try and keep Tom Rogic at Celtic for the end of year Glasgow Derby clash after it emerged the Australian had been picked to represent his country at the Asia Cup.

The tournament runs from Jan 5th To Feb 1st, and if the Socceroos were to make it all the way, the midfielder would miss at least four games for the Scottish Champions.

However, it emerged today the Australian team would be meeting up before the end of this year leaving Tom Rogic out of the Ibrox tie on December 30th.

Reporter Alison Conroy social media following the club are now in talks with the Australian federation to KEEP Rogic in Glasgow until the Derby game is over.

Tom clearly loves playing for his country but he also knows the importance of the fixture he would miss should he leave for International duty.

In an ideal world an agreement will hopefully be reached that would see Tom fly out AFTER the game.

When you consider Rogic’s influence in these games, it’s imperative the club keep him for the tie.
