There has been reports this morning Celtic have been coy with Fulham about the availability of their defender. So much so, The London club is set to up their offer in a bid to land the Belgian before the English transfer deadline this Sunday.

The bid was rumoured to be around £8-9million for the World Cup star but Fulham are prepared to go to £12million to land their man.

The Premier League new boys are desperate to get another defender in before the deadline and are willing to pay a large premium to land Boyata this season as they look to stay in England’s top flight.

There is no doubt this is more money than most fans would expect to get for the defender BUT there is currently no one to replace him. With the defender set to play some part in the Athens tie and hopefully the play-off tie, if Celtic did sell him they would be bare to the bones defensively.

With the English window drawing to a close, the clock is ticking.

  1. We have more than enough without Boyata, I wouldn’t play him at all. I’d go for a back 4 of Gamboa, Ajer, Simunovic & KT, & Hendry in reserve. For £12m I’d drive him down to Craven Cottage & buy him lunch! He has a 3rd Place 2018 World Cup medal & did well in the 3 games he played. He’s NOT a diehard Celtic fan like KT so I’d replace him with McKenna from Aberdeen as he is a great talent & if possible Denayer but either way he should go now with the best of luck & quadruple his salary so good all round. He’s NOT needed for AEK or Malmo as neither team will pose a threat to us especially Malmo. Sorry but cash in asap or after Wednesday but imo I’d not play him at all & he clearly wants a move so good luck & god bless him, thanks for the $$$!

  2. It’s a no brainier. I’d bite their hand off. The guys been a bombscare for the majority of his time here.
I’d buy McKenna and Denayer. For me Denayer is the best real defender we’ve had since Bobo. If it’s £12m then we could also afford to bring Paddy Roberts back or sign McGinn

  3. I’d take if if I’d any hope of it being spent on replacements. But I don’t. The board will consider Ajer/Hendry/Simonovic good enough to win the SPL and the money will go to the hotel and museum.
