Celtic and Ange have a good idea of who they’d like to move in at the end of the season.

It’s not secret and it’s not ‘in the know’ to point out the like of Albian Ajeti, Ismaila Soro and Vasilis Barkas are all players the board want to move on.

Ismaila might be the easiest to move on due to his relatively low outlay and wages but Albian and Vasilis are another kettle of fish entirely.

They’re both on long term deals and their wages aren’t chump change. Their form and time away from the limelight at Celtic incredibly devalues them and as we found out in January, clubs aren’t clamouring to sign either.

Clubs regularly have to take a hit on players they want to move on.

CeltsAreHere understands Celtic were still paying a part of Scott Sinclair’s wages in his early days at Preston to facilitate the move.

The club might have to do that again to get clubs interested in taking either.

Albian was brought in to be the successor to Edouard down the line but his move has been a failure. Barkas was signed to replace Fraser Forster and in the end he couldn’t keep Scott Bain out of the team. The poor recruitment over the past few seasons will linger for a little while yet. Loan deals could be on the cards.

The great news is Ange has had more hits than misses when it comes to the transfer market this season and has put Celtic in an incredible position to succeed.
