BRENDAN RODGERS has brought 18-year-old Ewan Henderson into the fold at first-team training after the young Celtic star REJECTED terms on a new deal a couple of weeks back.

Reports suggested Ewan declined a new three-year deal which would see him stay and develop at the club until he was at least 21.

However, unlike many Celtic youth stars in his position, Ewan has decided to knock back the initial offer and may have a look around before ultimately deciding his future.

With that in mind and Rodgers keen to keep the player, the Celtic manager has had Ewan training with his first-team squad ahead of the Motherwell game on Wednesday.

Henderson Training behind Kieran Tierney

Ewan is the younger brother of Liam Henderson who spent a lot of time in the Celtic youth system before moving on last January for good.

The midfielder will be wary of languishing in the reserves too long at Celtic as Liam did during his Celtic career.

Liam did go out on-loan to Norway and Hibernian during his time at Celtic. He now plays in Italy for Verona.
