CELTIC’s season is a bust. Supporters are looking for direction as to where exactly this club is going over the next three to five years but the powers that be are keeping their cards close to their chest.

More immediately though, there’s a difficult route to the Champions League for second place in the SPFL, and assuming we can do enough to secure the second spot there’s a very small amount of time between the end of this season and the start of next.

The majority of the Celtic support have been looking for change. While we know there’s a new CEO coming into the club at the start of July, we have no idea about the manager and playing staff.

If Celtic make the qualifiers of the Champions League their first fixture in next seasons competition will be on 20th or 21st of July according to UEFA’s calendar.

Qualifying

22 June 2021: Preliminary round semi-finals

25 June 2021: Preliminary round final

6/7 & 13/14 July 2021: First qualifying round

20/21 & 27/28 July 2021: Second qualifying round

3/4 & 10 August 2021: Third qualifying round

17/18 & 24/25 August 2021: Play-offs

That means Dominic McKay will only have been in the job three weeks before a pivotal season defining fixture.

Who is having a say on football operations before then? Is there anything in place for next season, will Neil Lennon be the manager? What’s the benefit of keeping Neil Lennon at the club if he’s not?

Season ticket renewals will go out in April and May time and at a time where household budgets are tight and getting to the football looks bleak, if the club don’t divulge this information, they are in for a serious reality check.

  1. Well what will be will be to many players wanted out and they should have been sold end of last season in a fire sale what we where left with was 6 or 7 players not wanting to play for Celtic and that all turned in to the season we have had now that made them look better than they are, so get those players out as soon as and line up the new faces we are going sign for the start of new season it may well be a new manager could help fix the problem we have but he must be in before end of season..

  2. I cannot believe that LAWWELL is not going NOW and taking Lennon with him. What are they hoping to achieve? The fans do not want them in post, therefore they should just take their payoffs and let people with the ability to take over at the club, as they are both past their sell by date in my opinion. and devoid of ideas.
