With Matt O’Riley’s future uncertain, Celtic have proactively identified a list of potential replacements.

Brendan Rodgers has praised the professionalism from O’Riley over the past few weeks with speculation rife, noting that no club has yet matched Celtic’s valuation, with the highest bid from Atalanta reaching around £15 million.
Despite this stance, Celtic has reportedly lined up several targets in case O’Riley departs, according to Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph. Among these targets are Daniel Gazdag, Shea Charles, and Tanner Tessman.
Daniel Gazdag is in MLS with Philadelphia Union. Valued at £10 million, Gazdag has attracted interest from Trabzonspor. His involvement in talks with the Turkish club suggests that he’s open to moving, making him a viable option for Celtic should they need a creative midfield force.
Shea Charles, from Southampton, has previously been linked to a move to Celtic, particularly as a part of a potential swap or combined deal involving O’Riley, though Celtic would prefer to keep such negotiations separate. Charles’ development in the Premier League environment could make him an attractive option for Celtic, offering youth and promise, however, he is typically a holding midfielder, while O’Riley plays a more advanced role.
Tanner Tessman is currently showcasing his talents on the international stage with the US Olympic team and plays his club football with Venezia in Serie A. His experience in a competitive European league at a young age adds to his appeal, making him a prospective candidate for Celtic’s midfield should they lose O’Riley.
Paulo Bernardo is a player who could fill the void O’Riley leaves, with his signing set to be confirmed in the coming days.
Weather Oreily stays or goes, shouldn’t stop ourselves for being in the market for another attacking midfield player imo?
The spotlight will be on both Oreily and Hatate for the remainder of this window regardless?
Even if we manage to keep both during this window, how much longer do we really expect to be able to keep hold of both players?
Paulo is a very decent player also to have within our squad?
Holm has shown plenty of improvement during pre season imo?
Still possibly has to have a strong start to the season before a squad place could be confirmed for himself?
Still think Holm will benefit more from a loan move with more regular game time on offer imo?
So potentially another attacking midfield place will be required, even if Hatate and Oreily do stay imo?
