AFTER CELTIC’S weekend match against Livingston was called off by the SPFL to show respect to Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday, fans have been questioning what would happen to the club’s Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk.

A report late on Thursday night from the Daily Record states that the match is still expected to go ahead but did warn that discussions are ongoing with the relevant authorities.

Celtic’s city rival’s match against Napoli will be postponed, the Daily Record says. However, Celtic and Hearts’ away travels are expected to go ahead as planned.

It would be great news for fans who have already made travel arrangements. Any last-minute call-offs would leave many out of pocket.

The weekend off gives Ange Postecoglou the opportunity to get some intense training into the squad and get them prepares for the match in Poland.

Shakhtar is a good side, beating Leipzig 4-1 on Tuesday. Hopefully, Celtic can get their first three points of the campaign as they look to qualify from the group.
