CELTIC could see their fixture against Reykjavik moved to one of four neutral countries if their Europe opponents can’t fly to Scotland on government advice according to SunSport.

Since the draw was made yesterday, there has been a lot of questions surrounding how the game itself will play out and where. Even though Celtic were drawn at home, there’s no guarantee the game goes ahead at Celtic Park at this moment in time.

UEFA have set up designated neutral countries for games if one club can’t make the trip to the other.

Greece, Cyprus, Hungary and Poland have all been earmarked for games should they need to be used.

Neil Lennon told Sunsport:

“Hopefully it will be at home and we are not sure yet if the game is going to be at a neutral venue or not.

“Hopefully it will be at Celtic Park and we’ll be delighted if it’s at home. That’s all we can ask for really. We’ll take it from there.”

Celtic are awaiting advice from their opponents and UEFA. The game is set to go ahead on 18/19 August.

The pitfalls of European football this year coming into play so early on for the Hoops.

Football being played around a pandemic is far from ideal, and we’ll see how far we can get down the line without cancellations and chaos.
