It is being reported that Celtic haven’t given up hope of signing Jordan Ibe from Bournemouth on loan for the rest of the season even though the player came on as a sub during their defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.

Neil Lennon was linked for a swoop for the player over the past few weeks but when pressed about a move Jordan said that the Celtic stuff was just rumours.

However, Sunsport believes the winger is set for showdown talks with his club this week as he looks to get first team football on a regular basis this year.

The report reads:

He came off the bench against Manchester City at the weekend and Howe still sees him as part of his plans.

But the former Liverpool starlet is keen to get regular starts after a frustrating spell.

Talks are set to place this week, with Celtic waiting to pounce if Ibe is told he can go on loan.

With the English transfer window firmly closed it means Jordan doesn’t have the option of heading out to another Premier League club. Celtic could offer the player first team football, the chance to win trophies and potentially play in Europe.

The Celtic boss did say he was hoping to get two or three in before the deadline. Would Ibe be a worthwhile signing?
