ANGE POSTECOGLOU has delivered some insight into his coaching shake up this summer that saw Harry Kewell come into the club and Stephen McManus drop back down to B team duties.

Nobody would have batted an eyelid if Ange went into the new season unchanged with the team that helped him win a League and Cup double.

However, the Australian chose to bring his compatriot in during the summer and shake things up a bit.

Harry Kewell’s playing CV speaks for itself, his experience at club and country level will be of great benefit to the bhoys at Lennoxtown.

Speaking about the change to SunSport, Ange revealed he likes to keep players and coaches on their toes so that nobody gets too complacent or comfortable with their surroundings:

“We have brought in Harry and made a couple of subtle changes to the coaching staff, so people don’t get too comfortable in terms of the voices that they hear.

“You are always trying to make those subtle changes because, from the first day of pre-season, you don’t want the players to think, ‘OK, we’re just going to roll out what we did last year’ and expect success to come. That’s not how it works.

“I always try to maintain a dynamic environment where there is an enthusiasm and freshness around the place.

“Sometimes that’s new voices, sometimes it’s subtle changes around where you train or the way you train.

“It’s not about one person. It’s just about making sure players and staff continue to improve.

“You need that uncertainty there to motivate them to improve.”

Speaking about Harry’s appointment to the Celtic set up, the Hoops boss filled supporters in on what the Australian will bring to the club:

“He offers something different to our coaching staff.

“He has had some experience of managing his own sides and before that had some incredible experiences as a player working under some fantastic managers.

“He offers something different to our coaching staff.

Celtic can’t rest on their laurels and if you’ve been paying attention, there’s no danger of that happening under the current manager.

If the Hoops fail in any of their targets, it won’t be down to complacency.

It’s the exciting start to a new season and we can’t wait to see what the team can do this year.
