Celtic’s European rivals Sparta Prague are in a fight to try and get their game back up and running after a nationwide shutdown on sports was extended this week.

Apart from Champions League and Europa League games, there are no games to be played in the Czech Republic into late December.

Sparta’s only two recent games have been against Milan and Lille in the Europa League, and now they will travel to Glasgow to take on the bhoys on Thursday.

SunSport claims the club is in crisis talks with the league and government about getting the game back up and running. Sparta believes their European form is being dented by not being able to play regularly at the moment.

You could look at it another way and say they don’t have a hectic schedule and should be in top condition for every game they play in the Europea League.

With the fixture format a game a week, it shouldn’t be out with the realms of what they’d be used to doing.

Celtic have two games a week at present, after getting off the field at Hampden, they then begin the work for Sparta’s visit and after that, it’s Motherwell away.
