Celtic stars who weren’t on international duty will return to Lennoxtown this morning as preparations begin for the season.

It will be a welcome sight for many to see some of the current squad make their return to training as Ange Postecoglou puts the bhoys through their paces.

There is hope that will we be seeing some new faces this week with Alexandro Bernabei expected to be announced as a Hoops player.

Compared to last season, we are in a much strong and more settled position heading into this pre-season which makes a pleasant change.

Celtic will kick-off pre-season with matches against SC Wiener Viktoria, Rapid Vienna and Banik Ostrava during their camp which will be based in Austria before returning to Celtic Park to take on Blackburn Rovers where many fans will get to see the Hoops back in the flesh again.

As players start to slowly come back, many will be looking to impress the gaffer. One of those very players will be Yosuke Ideguchi who made the switch to Glasgow at the turn of the year.

The prospect of him as well as our other January signings completing a full pre-season is exciting with Reo Hatate also set to return today.

There’s no way that Ange signed Ideguchi for no reason and now with departure of Nir Bitton the midfielder will be looking to impress the boss.

As well as this, James Forrest should also be looking to make more of an impression and challenge for the first team after being given a contract extension which will see the winger remain at the club until 2025.
