Celtic appear to be drifting further back from supporters this evening as they continue to use media outlets like the Daily Record to pass information onto the support.

After a shocking run of results which culminated in an embarrassing cup exit to Ross County at home, Neil Lennon is STILL in a job and as of this evening has been silently backed again by the club through Keith Jackson, who writes:

Record Sport understands the club’s majority shareholder is ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with Lennon for the time being and offer him a last chance to turn the club’s season around, starting on Thursday night at the San Siro.

The feeling among the support is the manager doesn’t seem to be able to get anything more out this side who have been so successful in the past. The performances have been poor all season and they show no signs of improving.

The reasons the Record offer for Neil Lennon not losing his job are as tinpot as they come;

  • Dermot Desmond will now bow to external pressure after the scenes on Sunday evening.
  • There is nobody tangible to replace him.

It’s outrageous if our club is not taking proper action to spite a very small number of supporters who took things too far on Sunday night. We have a global fan base and we’re all watching on in horror as our hierarchy fall asleep at the wheel.

A game against AC Milan which is a dead rubber will tell us nothing about Neil Lennon, however, if this form leaks into Sunday’s game against St Johnstone, the SPFL title would look out of sight, even at this stage.
