ANGE POSTECOGLOU has made changes but on the face of things, he has put out a very strong team, exhibiting Celtic’s squad strength for the first time this season.

The starting XI against Alloa could easily start an SPFL game and nobody would bat an eyelid.

Celtic haven’t had the best of luck with injuries this season, but the transfer window has enabled them to get some cover in key positions. Now. we’re seeing what the squad can be!

The bench is also loaded with talent. It’s brilliant to see Christopher Jullien back in the squad and hopefully, he can see some game time – as long as Celtic physios are happy for the Frenchman to play on an artificial surface.

The starting XI should have enough to put this game to bed, but if Alloa dig in, there’s plenty to call on to make sure the Hoops progress.

Maeda starts and will shoot off to international duty after this one so it’s right the Japanese player starts. Giakoumakis also getting the nod up front to give him some much-needed football is good news. The Greek striker is going to be called upon with Maeda and Kyogo unavailable over the next run of games.

Ultimately, Celtic fans should feel comfortable with the team and will be intrigued at seeing Guchi from the start as well as how this team gels together.

As someone who has witnessed Barry Ferguson reduced to tears back during the 6-2 game at Celtic Park, I wouldn’t mind a repeat of that tonight.

I’d like to see as many goals as possible. I just wonder if Celtic have had a word with the SFA so we can grab a couple of penalties.
