Celtic have received a welcome boost ahead of their League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen, with captain Callum McGregor, Adam Idah, and Nicolas Kuhn all returning to training on Friday.
McGregor, who missed Celtic’s last two games, was back with the squad, offering a significant lift in both leadership and midfield stability. His return will add experience and control in what promises to be an intense showdown at Hampden.
Adam Idah’s availability is another positive development. After a dangerous red-card tackle by Liam Gordon at Fir Park, there were fears of a serious injury for the striker, but a scan cleared him, and he has been pictured in training by SNS Group.
Additionally, Nicolas Kuhn, who has been dealing with a hip injury, was back on the training pitch. The German forward was subbed on against Motherwell but was absent from the squad in midweek against Dundee.
Brendan Rodgers will confirm the availability of the players later on Friday afternoon, but being pictured out on the training pitch is positive news ahead of the trip to Hampden Park.
Last time out at Hampden against Aberdeen saw a thrilling encounter unfold, with extra time and penalties needed for Celtic to progress to the Scottish Cup final. Hopefully, this Saturday won’t be as dramatic.
