CELTIC have had their injury problems over the past two months but they certainly seem to be easing as the weeks go by.

There was a real concern Hatem Elhamed’s fresh injury in Dubai would see the defender miss a majority of the games over the next few months but the Celtic manager has confirmed it’s not the case. Neil Lennon also made mention of both Ajer and Bitton; Ajer injured himself during the Dubai trip and was left out the Partick Thistle side while Nir Bitton started in place of Ajer at Firhill and was subbed early on due to injury.

The Celtic manager confirmed good news on all three players.

“He (Ajer) is okay and is in the squad for Wednesday night,” said Lennon. “Nir’s had a scan and is going to be out for a couple of weeks. It’s not a complete tear but it’s a hamstring strain.” Lennon told Herald Scotland.

“It’s not ideal. It happened in the first few minutes after being out for a few weeks, but at least it’s not as bad as we first feared.

“Elhamed has got some good news. The initial injury we first thought maybe isn’t as bad. We can’t put a time limit on it but it’s not as bad as we first thought.”

Ajer being back for the Killie game is a massive boost in itself while Nir and Hatem are weeks away from getting back into the side. Celtic need to call on their squad depth in the next few months to make sure they take control of the title race. Hatem Elhamed coming back in to share duties with Jeremie Frimpong will be a welcome boost.
