GEORGIOS GIAKOUMAKIS led the line for the hoops again today, performing very well. The striker may not have gotten himself on the scoresheet but he gave a good account of himself.

The Greek was exceptional in holding the ball up. He would pull defenders out of position, creating space for his teammates. His physical presence up top gave the Motherwell backline a nightmare.

Giakoumakis has been unlucky in front of goal recently, again today he forced a good save from Kelly in the ‘well goals.

The summer signing also helped his teammates out in defence, he was not afraid to track back and win the ball.

The style of striker that Giakoumkais means that he can offer something different for Celtic. His physical attributes mean he can bully opposition defenders and play a vital role in some of Celtic’s tougher games.

As Celtic travel to the Toni Macaroni Arena soon, Postecoglou may decide to use the striker to break the winless pattern in Livingston.
