SCOTT BROWN has taken to social media to thank former Celtic star Virgil van Dijk after the Celtic captain received his signed Liverpool jersey as a testimonial gift.

The Dutchman who since leaving Celtic has become the worlds most expensive defender with a money spinning move to Liverpool still follows Celtic and regularly checks in on the bhoys when he can.

Virgil was a pivotal part in the early years of Celtic ten in a row tilt and hopes to see the club achieve that feat.

Brown is enjoying his testimonial season. Having already had a dinner in his honour and a golf day with Celtic legend Henrik Larsson, the midfielder had a glamour tie against the Republic of Ireland coming up at the end of May.

  1. What an inspiring captain we have in Scott.I watched the game on Sunday and rarely if indeed ever have I been more comfortable and relaxed in the knowledge that we were far superior to The Rangers. For me the two outstanding aspects were Moussa’s contemptuous penalty and our captain’s imperious strolling about controlling the play like a puppet master. What a grand time this is to be a Celtic supporter.!!!!
