Champions League and Premier League winner, Andy Robertson admits he wanted a Celtic move when he played for Hull but is now happy at Anfield and wants to retire there if he can, but doesn’t rule out a move to Celtic down the line.

Most Celtic fans understand why he wouldn’t move with the incredible teammates, great staff and a well-known manager Jurgen Klopp. He has also said he wouldn’t swap from Liverpool to Celtic but has thought about the possibility of playing for Celtic. It’s safe to say that the Hoops would take him in a heartbeat as he’s one of the best left-backs in the game at the moment.

“If you asked me when I was playing for Hull if I wanted to go back and play for Celtic then I would have said that 100 per cent I wanted to play for my boyhood club.” Robertson told the Lockdown Football Podcast.

“But now I’ve found my home at Liverpool and I love playing for this club. If I could retire at Liverpool then I’d bite your hand off for it now.

“In an ideal world I’d want to retire here. Playing at this club is amazing. To play in front of the fans every second week at Anfield is incredible.

“When I was younger I wanted to play for Celtic and give my best years to Celtic.
“I didn’t want to be hanging on and going there at 33 or 34 when I knew my best years were gone.

“It might be something I’ll need to think about at some stage. I still follow Celtic and they still have a place in my heart.

“It would be hard to say no. But if I did have the option of retiring at Liverpool I’d bite your hand off for it — and I’d probably sign the contract now.”

His childhood club, Celtic, was the team that he wanted to play for but was released when he was younger and had to go down to part-time football with Queens park, he then went onto Dundee United, soon after that, he went to Hull then signed for Liverpool for £8 million which is a bargain now and how he has developed so much in the years he’s played football.
