What a season Celtic have had, a real resurgence by a team that looked tired and out of ideas at the start of the season. In the this spotlight series we will look at some of the main players in what would turn out to be a succesful campaign where Celtic would secure the double and get oh so close to a famous treble.
Where do I start with the Scandanavian?
A player with a fantastic engine, he goes from the first whistle to the last and keeps up the intensity during a game. After a low key start to his Celtic career under Neil Lennon he really has flourished under the guidance of the man who made him a success at Stromgodset.
Not willing to give up on anything the midfielder chases down lost causes, something that is really appreciated by the Celtic support. There’s nothing more irritating than seeing a player not busting a gut to do all he can for his team and that accusation can never be put at Stefan’s feet.
The Norweigan has also chipped in with 12 goals this season, impressing not only for his desire to win the ball but his ability to finish quite cleanly in front of goal.
He has been a standout for sure and the awards keep coming for the 24-year-old. After winning Celtic player of the year he has now taken Scottish PFA player of the year and with good reason.
He has really upped his game under Ronny and is a very good prototype in what the manager wants from his players. Bossing the midfield with Scott Brown the future is bright for Celtic with Stefan only more likely to improve.
In his year and a half at Celtic he now has two league medals and a league cup medal to his name. There’s certainly more medals and personal gongs to be won for a player that’s really only getting started.
