It feels like a lifetime ago since Scott Allan was a Celtic player. The midfielder who was signed from under the noses of our bitter rivals back under Ronny Deila has been out of contract this summer and looking for a way back into the game.

There was always huge debate within the Celtic support about Scott’s worth to the team and if he should be getting more game time. Ronny Deila didn’t give the midfielder much, and Brendan Rodgers was not a fan at all.

The midfielder had a torrid time at Celtic. He would move to Hibernian, signing a pre-contract with Neil Lennon’s Hibs and by March, Neil Lennon was back as caretaker Celtic boss.

Since then, Scott has had struggles with injuries and illness and couldn’t show his worth at Easter Road.

According to the Scottish Daily Express, Scott is set to sign for Championship side Arbroath, joining the legendary Dick Campbell.

Scott has been on the scene for a long time, but he’s only 30. If he can stay fit, the former Celtic man can do Arbroath a major turn in the coming season. We wish him all the best.
