Former Celtic captain Charlie Mulgrew could be set for a return to Scottish football at the age of 35.

The former Celtic star left the club just as Brendan Rodgers was taking up his Celtic post and ushering in an incredible amount of success.

Charlie reinvented himself down south and became a top player for Blackburn. However, his influence diminished throughout the seasons and he found himself on loan at Wigan, and out at Fleetwood last season.

Charlie has since been released by Blackburn and is mulling over his next move.

SunSport claim the utility man has been asked to join Dundee Utd, a team he played for back in 2006 when he was loaned out by Celtic.

Could we see two former Celtic captains come up against their old side next term?

Scott Brown will face the Hoops in the red of Aberdeen, will Chico join in and take his place at Tannadice?
