CHARLIE NICHOLAS is concerned about the situation Celtic find themselves in with Giorgos Giakoumakis and Josip Juranovic and their transfer status in January.
Both players could be set for a January exit, with their expectations not being met with their latest contract offers. Celtic are willing to cash in on the players mid-season and are actively seeking replacements in the forward areas after bringing a right-back in on Saturday.
Ange Postecoglou has publicly stated that he isn’t involved with the situation, which has worried Nicholas. [Daily Record]
“I am concerned with what is happening on the contract front with Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis at Celtic – and even more so if Ange Postecoglou isn’t involved in the decisions.
“Both are big players, so it’s alarming they could be sold by the club if neither are able to agree new deals. Players come and go, I get it, but the bigger picture worries me.What does Postecoglou really think about losing two of his key men?”
The former Celtic player is hoping that Ange Postecoglou isn’t having the decisions taken out of his hands and fears that if this is the case, he could be forced out of the door.
“Brendan Rodgers left the Parkhead managerial hotseat in 2019 because he wasn’t happy with the way things were going
“I can’t see Postecoglou taking any nonsense from the hierarchy, so I hope it doesn’t end the same way for him as it did for Rodgers.
“I just hope the Australian has a say in these calls on his players’ futures and that they aren’t being made by others.”
From the outside looking in, it doesn’t seem that Ange Poistecoglou wants to be involved in these decisions taken in the boardroom. He’s concentrated on the playing department, and until a player downs his tools, he doesn’t want to be involved.
Back in your cage Champagne Charlie. We dont scare easy. we are not lie your Govan shower. Our lives are quiet and controlled. Scare mongering is not for Celtic. We know you make up these things anyway. Bye!!!
