CRAIG GORDON is to be rewarded for his efforts this season with a bumper new contract.

The former Premier League player was courted by Chelsea in the January window with Celtic standing firm in the face of a very decent offer.

Considering the player was dropped at the start of the season for Dorus DeVries the Scots Celtic future looked bleak under Brendan Rodgers. Since then he has reclaimed his spot and has been pivotal in the overall success of the Celtic team.

Celtic look set to tie the 34-year old down on a long-term deal for his exploits.

While we are unsure if he wanted to speak to Chelsea about a move, Craig has shown incredible professionalism in the way he’s went about the speculation.

Brenan Rodgers now sees him as an integral part of his team going forward and on the form he’s on, no wonder.

  1. I’ve just about forgiven him for going up for that corner for hearts .. but seems he wants to stay because he would have at least doubled his wages with Chelsea.. been brilliant since he got back in the team so hopefully it continues
