CELTIC were linked with a move for Fabricio Bruno this week with reports from Brazil claiming Celtic had made a bid for the defender – Read Full Story.

There’s been a bit of flesh put onto the bones of the story today with Cruzeiro Chief Executive Marcio Rodrigues speaking out about the potential transfer. Rodrigues admitting there had been interest from the Scottish Champions for the defender.

“The proposal came, yes, but it is not consistent with what we want.” Marcio told GloboeSporte.

“There was a little enquiry and they made a proposal, but it didn’t come close to what we want.”

Celtic are pressing on with their January plans and had a Tuesday transfer meeting to see how best to proceed with the list if players currently on their radar.

It remains to be seen how firm Celtic’s interest really is when it comes to the Brazilian. The bhoys would have to jump through a lot of hoops to get any deal done for a player coming from South America.

There’s every possibility Celtic are being used to get the player’s name out there into Europe to see if they can get Bruno a move away from Brazil.
