BRENDAN RODGERS is taking the heat because he was the one portraying himself as a Celtic man before the sudden exit from Paradise last week. The same can not be said for Chris Davies, the man who came in to be Brendan’s assistant at Celtic when the Irishman took over.

Davies always conducted himself well in his role as assistant and was very humble, focused and passionate on the touchline and when face to face with the media.

There will be little to no anger levelled at Davies as the coach takes up a role with Leicester which will see him earn a hell of a lot more money than he was on at Celtic.

A week on from the Celtic exit the assistant manager has broken his silence.

“It’s been an emotional week overall and it wasn’t easy to leave Celtic.” Davies told SunSport.

“I loved everything about my time there — the club itself, the players, the fans.

“I am a Celtic supporter for life now. It was a fantastic experience.

“I really did warm to the club and I had such a great time there. I am going to miss being part of the club and I will always be watching their results.

“I wish Celtic all the best for the future. It’s a fantastic club and I had a great time there, with memories that will always stay with me.

“I watched both games this week against Hearts and Hibs and I was cheering them on. I was hoping they’d win and thankfully that’s what happened.”

There’s really no need for Davies to pay lip service to the Celtic fans at this point and we don’t question what he’s saying or his motives for saying it. He was not a Celtic man who made a career decision – something we see a lot of at the club.

  1. You know I think is time to forget what ever feeling over BR exit from celtic last week, there is only 1 – 2 things about him BR is a very good coach the cups ect that we have are the products of his and the rest of the team through hard work they and the players to. I also think that when he came the players that were there in place like centre half’s midfielders still there right and lefr backs still there goalie (1) still there strikers (1) still there BR did bring a few pl
ayers that did not work and a few that did so in the summer we will have to replace a lot of positions like
1 maybe a new goalie as Craig may not like to hang on to been 2nd as Scott is doing a fine job so far and he is a lot younger that Scott as well
2 centre backs we will be looking to replace DB away no cash back BR allowed his contract to run down JS injury prone and his contract running down as well we also require a right back as ML is maybe going back home as his age is catching up with him I would give him a the extra year good back up for who ever does sign plus a back up to KT again just for injuries or god forgive me we may sell him if the price right hope not that the celtic supporter in him and stays
Midfielders SB another year older a wee bit slower as he is not going to push his body forever also great to have him about the place helping new players settle in ect and also taking coaching lessons within celtic CM, G hoing he will take over from SB you never know a big money offer comes in what does he or celtic do will he go or stay ONC will he want to stay on without BR he was on the brink of moving on this year but BR spoke to him and he signed another 4 years that means nothing only that we will get a good price for him
Strikers we have in play EO still a very young player learning every day wee Griff still not well hope he will be back soon as for the others up front OB away in the summer TW away in the summer hopefully may get extension from his mother team the same for OB the lad BAYO still to ses him play hopefully some time soon and also the other boys that we have out on loan we still have to see them play as well so I think when BR came he did inprove our crop of players whipped them into shape and won everything at home Europe another story so old RD did leave us with a group of players that helped BR out a good bit has he did have to chase a bunch of new players from the last manager now we are going to have a barrow full of cash for next season hope you see this Mr lawwell and release the funds to make us grow as a group of players And help whoever the new boss is were it to be Neil or An they will and do need help as it looks like a new team to be build again no forward thinking as we are heading down this season who is looking for new players just now for next term as we need time to assess the players now and pinpoint the areas that I have seen I know other people will not agree with me that’s OK but it’s only that see, so now forget about the previous manager think about the now and get behind Neil and his backroom staff just now and help them to win the 3 in 3 years and celebrate with them god willing hail hail
