CHRIS SUTTON believes Odsonne Edouard went down too easy for the penalty and there’s no debate whether it should be given or not.

The Frenchman was booked by Willie Collum for the incident when he was through on goal and it appears as if there was contact, even though minimal.

Sutton wasn’t having any of it and branded Edouard a cheat.

“Incidentally, leave me out of the debate over the Edouard penalty kick and booking for simulation.” Sutton wrote in his RECORDSPORT column.

“It was not a penalty and it was simulation. The referee got it right.”

Celtic were the dominant team on the day but there were a lot f strange decisions by Collum. The referee playing Celtic advantage when it would be more beneficial for them to get the free kick, blatant handballs missed and a stamp on Laxalt’s foot at the start of the game another incident the ref let slide.

Celtic will take heart from their performance, that’s two Derby games they have been better than their rivals but still not managed to win. If they continue to plug away then the game at Ibrox is there for the taking, presuming the little and the big decisions are called correctly.
