CHRIS SUTTON has not held back in his opinion of Olivier Ntcham after the Frenchman’s disappointing season for the Hoops.

Ntcham had an indifferent season which was start/stop due to injuries at key points in the season. The midfielder never really got going and the accusation levied against him is the player had downed tools after Moussa Dembele was sold to Lyon.

Some of the criticism has been harsh but Oli certainly didn’t live up to his first season in a Celtic jersey.

The club signed the midfielder to a new deal after interest from Porto last summer and speculation surrounding his future has still not died down.

Commenting on Ntcham’s season Sutton wrote in Record Sport column “Ntcham was a huge disappointment last season, and he might have seen Moussa Dembele getting his multi-million switch to Lyon and do very well and now he possibly fancies a move himself”

Celtic should stick to their guns with Ntcham. If they have a figure in mind they’re happy to sell at then they should be non-negotiable. On his day, he is a very talented player and if he sticks around there’s every chance he would redeem himself this season.
