CHRIS SURTON isn’t one to shirk from his opinion and he is doing nothing to sugar cost what he’s thinking about treble treble winner Scott Sinclair.
The Celtic winger came in with the Rodgers revolution and was a massive part of the invincible season – winning player of the year. The following season the player struggled for the form of the previous campaign but so did a lot of the Celtic team. Sinclair still got among the goals and did his bit towards the double treble. Last season, Sinclair found himself in and out of the side at times but still bagged 17 goals on the club’s way to an unprecedented treble treble.
This year, new manager, new ideas has seen Scott slip not only out of the side but the squad altogether and that’s why Chris Sutton believes the writing is on the wall for the Englishman.
Writing for his RecordSport column the former Celtic striker said:
“Scott Sinclair appears to have no future at Celtic. Europa League squad or not, the winger has been out in the cold.
“James Forrest, Mikey Johnston, Lewis Morgan are ahead of him. Marian Shved is there and Neil Lennon has brought in Mohammed Elyouanoussi on loan and he cost Southampton £16million last term.
“Sinclair’s chances of getting even a sub outing seem bleak after he had, in the eyes of most folk, a disappointing 2018-19 season Sinclair was tipped to leave Celtic in the summer but it never came to pass. The club evoked an extra season on his contract with what looks like a move to guarantee a fee for him which has backfired.
