The Scottish Premiership season has returned, and so too has Chris Sutton to our TV screens.
The former Celtic striker was in a boyish mood yesterday as Hearts picked up a more than deserved point against Rangers at Tynecastle, but it is the Englishman’s recent RecordSport column which has captured headlines.

Sutton admitted he is baffled by Celtic’s transfer activity this summer, stating that he can’t help but feel things could be moving quicker at Parkhead.
He shares the same frustrations as most fans, who know the squad is currently weaker than it was at the end of last season.
Brendan Rodgers knows this but seems relaxed about transfers. He believes he will get quality additions to his team in due course.
The boss recently hit back at the ‘toxic, negative energy’ surrounding Celtic’s recruitment this summer, which Sutton was left confused at.
He responded to the comments in his recent RecordSport column.
“I’m not sure I understood what Rodgers was saying yesterday about negative toxic energy that comes around transfers”, he said.
“Fans and media are merely saying the squad needs to be improved, which is exactly the same as the manager is saying himself.
“That’s not toxic or negative, it’s just pointing out the facts. Rodgers says Celtic need to improve and that’s all anyone else has said.”
The closing four weeks of the transfer window will be telling.
Rodgers knows who and what he needs in the door, and it will be intriguing to see whether he is backed by the club.
