CHRIS SUTTON told the BT Sports panel on Sunday he was ‘led to believe’ the offer made by Celtic to Jose Mourinho was legit and the club did make an offer.

This comes weeks after the former Porto and Real Madrid manager was linked with a move to Celtic Park.

Speaking on BT Sports and as cited by SunSport, Sutton seemed convinced the club had at least made the manager an offer.

He said: “Mourinho was heavily linked.

“I’m led to believe there was something in that, in terms of there being an offer.”

Sutton still has friends inside Celtic Park and he could be hearing from a good source. The Englishman did follow the revelation up with a more realistic outlook and wondered why Mourinho would be interested in coming to Scotland.

“Why would he take the Celtic job? I just don’t get it.

“I don’t know the exact terms, but there was an offer.”

Celtic will look to appoint a manager shortly after the Scottish Cup next week. The club knows time is of the essence with such a short off season.

Neil Lennon is still a leading candidate for the full-time role but right now it’s anybody’s guess who will be in the hot seat come July.

The man who comes in will certainly be tasked with winning ten in a row.

  1. No matter who gets the Hoops job, the suit’s have to decide what all the spare cash in the bank coffers will be spent on. Either a manager and staff and loads of loans and free’s. And clear out the deadwood and cash cows.

Or a safe and cheap boss and staff and lots of players costing at least $£€::::::::::::Millions.

Can’t have both, Lets see who gets the gig. As the clock is ticking on TIAR, ahh that got your attention. Mmmmmmmm.

As I haven’t seen any mention, of who is going to bankroll this after the last couple of fuc& ups over the last Nine years. Will it be the fans yet again, or Santa baby.
