Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has given his opinion on the crisis the hoops find themselves in, in his latest Daily Record post. With all three first-team strikers sidelined, Celtic must find a replacement from within the club to step into the role on Sunday, and potentially for the Cup Final the following week.

With Dawson and Moffat missing Friday night’s B team game, it is a possibility that the pair will make the matchday squad but starting the game might just be too much of as ask. In the past, current players like James Forrest and Mikey Johnston have filled in the position, the latter of the two even started at Ibrox upfront.

Chris Sutton is adamant that Abada should lead the line for the hoops, writing;

Ajeti doesn’t have a future at the club and it only leaves Gio Giakoumakis as back-up, when he needs to recover from his injury problem. Postecoglou will need to soldier on in the meantime but it doesn’t have to be a complete disaster. I actually think he still has the players to cope with the next few weeks – even without a striker.

Manchester City managed to win the league without a frontman, so it can be done.

Who does he go with up top? I think it will be Abada. He looked really effective when he moved in against Real Betis and he’s got the speed and movement to slot in for Kyogo.

I would probably agree with Sutton, Abada has the speed and awareness to be a temporary replacement. He even won Celtic the penalty on Thursday nights playing in the role. However, the decision lies with the manager and he knows the players better than us.
