CHRIS SUTTON has told his Record Sport column it must only be a matter of time before an Eddie Howe announcement from the club. Because if there isn’t, the Hoops are in big trouble.

Talking about the managerial situation – Sutton is of the opinion the club are waiting to announce Howe when the time is right.

Whether that be after the Glasgow Derby on Monday or even the end of the season.

Sutton’s point being – if the club haven’t nailed down their next manager by this point then they may as well just concede next seasons title.

I believe Celtic and Eddie Howe have known this deal was done and dusted for quite time and moves are being made behind the scenes.

Chris Sutton wants Celtic to get on with things.

“I would not be in the slightest bit surprised if that [HOWES APPOINTMENT] is happening because, in all honesty, Celtic surely can’t still be fiddling around trying to sort out a new manager.

“Surely it’s all been done in the background and it’s now just all about the timing of the announcement. If it’s not and they really are still on a manhunt, they are in even bigger trouble than I thought.

“That’s really all that is dominating the minds of the punters right now and I don’t blame them.”

Celtic have a big summer ahead of them, renewals have to begin shortly and the Euro qualifiers are less than 12 weeks away.

Fans want to see the club publicly getting on with things. Chris is right – if it’s not Howe then Celtic are in major bother.

Hopefully the club will show their hand shortly. There will be a good feeling about the place once we start to see real progress.
