Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was left a frustrated figure after the Hoops were defeated by two goals to nil at Tynecastle on Sunday afternoon.
Things turned sour for the Hoops after Adam Idah missed an early spot-kick. Yang Hyun-jun was harshly sent off before a penalty was given against Tomoki Iwata for supposed ‘handball’.
Post-match, gaffer Rodgers called out the incompetency of the officials. He was left baffled at the decision to send off Yang while being equally as surprised that the Jambos were given the chance to score from the spot.
John Beaton, who was in charge of VAR, was named by the manager in his scathing post-match interview with Sky Sports.
Former Celtic hero and now pundit Chris Sutton has reacted to Rodgers’ words, hailing them as ‘very strong’:
Very strong this from Brendan…👇👇 https://t.co/tzTkLUdt7o

Although Adam Idah’s penalty miss proved costly against Hearts, the poor decisions that were made by the likes of Beaton hindered Celtic massively. Rodgers was right to call them out and stand up for the club and supporters.
Fitbaws a rollercoaster in var land.
Brendans angry. He will survive this.
4/10 for the Celtic team. The farts got goals. Celtic never.
What ever happened to score more goals than you conceded?
No more excuses. Get it done, get it done early.
