CELTIC icon Chris Sutton has weighed in on the debate surrounding Ange Postecoglou’s potential move to Tottenham, unequivocally stating that the North London club would be a “downgrade” compared to the Hoops.

The experienced Australian manager has swiftly risen to the top of Spurs’ wish list, now sitting at the top, following Feyenoord boss Arne Slot’s decision to remain at the Dutch club.
Sutton believes that Postecoglou’s departure from Parkhead is far from certain, asserting that Tottenham Hotspur is a “smaller” club than Celtic and would represent a step down for the highly regarded manager.
Taking to Twitter, he tweeted:
I want Ange Postecoglou to stay at Celtic and have a crack at the CL next season and Tottenham Hotspur is clearly a downgrade/smaller club than Celtic but nobody can deny the fact that Ange will want a crack at the Premier League down south at some stage…

Although Postecoglou refrained from ruling out a potential move, he addressed the speculation during a recent press conference, stating he’s focussed on Celtic’s treble push and isn’t thinking too far ahead.
Tottenham now faces the prospect of a season without European competition following a tumultuous campaign. Moreover, uncertainties surrounding the future of key players, including Harry Kane, continue to cast a shadow over the club’s immediate future. The club are in a tricky place, but as Ange Postecoglou has shown with Celtic, he welcomes a massive challenge.
Spurs smaller club than Celtic? There are only 2 teams in the SPL. Chris Sutton has his head up you know where.
