CHRIS SUTTON has told any ‘twitchy’ supporters to calm down over the title even though Celtic have been flat in the lead up to clinching it.

In his RecordSport column, the former Celtic striker said fans shouldn’t be surprised without flat Celtic are at the moment because they’ve been flat most of the season. The Englishman believes there was no plan B for when Moussa Dembele made a sharp Celtic exit with the frontman focal to Brendan Rodgers’ plans.

Celtic started the season flat but it was the Murrayfield game and the inclusion of Ryan Christie that really sparked a good run of form between October and December. However, injuries would bring Celtic’s performances back down to an unacceptable level.

As the bhoys get ready to land their eighth consecutive title, Sutton believes nobody should sweat it because the bottle merchants over at Ibrox couldn’t handle the pressure if Celtic lost more games before the end of the season.

“I know some supporters are getting twitchy but, let’s be honest, are Rangers really going to win all of their remaining games?

“They are fine when the pressure is off, but ask them to take the points in a must-win game and they go to pieces.

“If Celtic dropped more points, there’s a good chance they would as well and the title will eventually end up at Celtic Park.”

  1. Chris is right again, we have been flat, but we’re still picking up points. Need some new faces at end of season, but not that many,as we still have strong squad, plus plenty in reserve.

  2. Someone Once Said To Play Poorly & Win 1-0 Is As Good As A 3-0 Win, As Long As We Get The Win & Another 3 Points In The Bag And As Wee Bertie Would Say, And If You Know Your History. 1-0 {5} 67th Minute Thanks Big Man, We Knew Yould Not Let Us Down, Theirs Only One King Billy That’s McNiell (RIP BIG MAN YNWA) ???
