Matt O’Riley will be on cloud 9 as he wakes up on Sunday morning.

The former Celtic star scored on his Premier League debut and it turned out to be the winning goal as Brighton came from a goal down to beat Man City.
After leaving Scotland, O’Riley faced immediate challenges with his new club. Handed a debut less than 24 hours after signing, he found himself hobbling off the pitch after 7 minutes.
However, when he finally stepped onto the pitch, it was to make a memorable impact.
In his first Premier League game, O’Riley scored a stunning goal against Manchester City, sealing a victory that handed Pep Guardiola’s team their fourth consecutive defeat.
Among the voices celebrating O’Riley’s success was former Celtic star Chris Sutton.
Sutton took the opportunity to have a dig about the ignorant narrative from down south about the quality of the Premier League compared to the Scottish Premiership.
Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live’s 606, Sutton quipped about O’Riley proving himself in what he mockingly referred to as the “Farmer’s League” of the Premier League.
He said: “Absolutely delighted for Matt O’Riley coming down to the Farmer’s League north of the border and scoring the winner for Brighton.”
It’s no surprise to see that Matt O’Riley is taking it all in his stride.
While Celtic have moved on from him, fans will always hold him in a high regard.
