CHRIS SUTTON is never one to mince his words or keep his opinion to himself. Having been part of Scottish football for so long, the Englishman can speak from authority, especially covering our game in depth over the past five years.

Sutton has gained many admirers but he has also rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way; for better or worse, Chris calls it as he sees it.

The BT pundit has watched his old team steamroll the competition since 2017 – winning every major domestic honour three seasons in a row. The pattern is clear for Chris, the pressure and expectancy can be too much for some in the West of Scotland.

Sutton believes, right now, Celtic’s Glasgow rivals are benefitting from not having that anxious pressure that comes with a full stadium on match days. When a game is hanging in the balance or things aren’t going their way, they have time to correct course without hearing displeasure from the stands.

Barry Ferguson believes, that is utter nonsense and has Challenged Chris on his opinion. It became a bit of a rant. But Ferguson’s argument against kind of misses the point.

“Chris Sutton has been up to his old tricks, claiming Rangers players are enjoying playing in front of empty stadiums because they are ‘serial bottlers’.” Ferguson told Sunsport.

“Gaining an advantage from having no passionate fans alongside them? What a load of absolute cr*p.

“Having Ibrox packed with 50,000 supporters every home game is EXACTLY why players join the club in the first place.

“And it’s the exact same for Celtic and the thought of a full Parkhead.

“Yes, the fans might be demanding. But what do you expect at a big club like Rangers?
