Ange Postecoglou has called over caution over the return from injury of defender Christopher Jullien.

The Frenchman has been out since last December, after sustaining a terrible knee injury due to a collision with the post in the last game of 2020 vs Dundee United.

In recent weeks, the 28-year old has been spotted in training, with fans beginning to expect the defender to make a return to action in the coming weeks.

However, Ange has given the latest update on his injury progress, urging caution, as he stated that there is still some work to be done before Jullien returns to first-team action to avoid hitting a further setback.

“We still need to do some work with Chris. I know people are anxious, but we are not quite there,” he said, as cited by Football Scotland.

“This was sort of seen as a likely return date, but we have just got to be careful.

It has been frustrating to have Jullien out for so long. However, Ange is 100% correct in taking the cautious approach, given the injury from which the former Toulouse man will be coming back from.

As he continues to get up to speed, that return will become more likely, especially when you factor in the number of games we have in such a short space of time over the next month.
