CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN has made the concerning statement his pal Olivier Ntcham was stagnating at the club and was in need of a move.

The Frenchman, currently out injured after colliding with the post during Celtic’s win to Dundee Utd in the final fixture of 2021, believes Ntcham had simply stopped progressing.

Whether he means because Oli wasn’t getting game time or because the midfielder felt the coaching staff and the club weren’t serving him well is up for debate.

Speaking to La Provence about Oli’s move back to France, the defender believes it will be a positive move for the central midfielder and will get his career going again.

“He had taken a step forward in Glasgow but he was starting to stagnate, because he remains in Scotland.

“He needed a new challenge. I see him succeeding at OM, he has everything he needs to achieve this.

“This stage will be able to make him grow even more. He has always had the qualities to aim for a major championship like Ligue 1.”

Are there more people in the squad who believe they’re stagnating?

There was no doubt Ntcham wanted away for quite some time, the motives behind the moves have been guarded by the midfielder, maybe because this is just a loan deal at present. We have no idea if the option to buy is just that, an option, or if there’s more of an obligation to make the move permanent in the summer.
