Celtic could be set to cash in on their defender Christopher Jullien this summer after he played no part in Celtic’s league season despite being first since January.

The centre-back was out for over a year with a knee injury, having to undergo surgery and rigorous rehab to get back on the training pitch.

Many supporters assumed Chris would get back in the squad pretty quickly after his return but it hasn’t worked out that way. Neil Lennon’s signing has been out of most matchday squads since his return and only got a short cameo against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup.

According to David Friel of SunSport, there are several French clubs looking at bringing Chris back to France this summer.

Jullien is in the final year of his Celtic contract and will be allowed to talk to any other club in January. If Ange Postecoglou doesn’t see a first team future for the defender, getting some cash for him would be the best idea for all parties.

It remains to be seen if CCV will be staying, and if he doesn’t, losing Jullien would leave us very short. Right now, it looks likely Chris will leave the club if the right offer comes along.
