Ronny Deila has refused to rule out the possibility that new signing Nadir Ciftci could go straight into the team for Celtic’s vital qualifier against FC Stjarnan.

The striker came on against Real Sociedad on Friday night and made an instant impact, setting up his former Dundee Utd teammate Gary McKay Steven for the winning goal.

With the Champions League game now looming Ronny Deila would have no issues throwing Ciftci in at the deep end. Speaking after the Sociedad game he was full of praise for his new signing when asked if he could start on Wednesday.

“We’ll see, he’s available and we’ll see what we do, he is of course an option,” said Deila. “I’m very happy to get him in. He showed today what we can add to the team, he’s a good football player and he’s going to be an important player for us.

With Ronny’s system if he did start Nadir would more than likely have to leave out leigh Griffiths who  has become a vital part of the team since January. The manager has a tough decision to make.
