Henrik Larsson and Helsingborgs parted ways last night after the club were relegated from the top division.

What many people won’t know is that Helsingborgs financial situation has been dismal since the former striker took the reigns. Having to work with a diminished budget from his predecessors and stay competitive was a hard thing to do.

With their relegation to the lower leagues it puts the financial strain into sharp focus and piles more pressure on the club.

Henrik Larsson was due a payoff for the rest of his contract by the Helsingborgs board but the Swede has chosen to forgo this in a final act of appreciation to the club he spent two spells as a player.

A touch of class from Henrik who knows the club will need every penny going forward as they look to rebuild.
