Celtic have this evening announced that a minutes applause will take place prior to Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup tie against St Johnstone.
Those at Hampden Park will pay tribute to the club legend, who sadly passed away last week.
In a statement released by the club, they announced the minute’s applause as well as a tribute at next weekend’s home fixture against Aberdeen, with further details to be announced shortly, allowing season ticket holders to pay their respects.
“Celtic Football Club today confirmed  that there will a minute’s applause prior to kick-off in our League Cup semi-final against St Johnstone at Hampden this Saturday, November 20, in honour of Celtic legend Bertie Auld, who sadly passed away earlier this week.”
“As the Club has already announced, Celtic players will also proudly wear the famous No.10 on their shorts at the game in honour of Bertie.
“At next weekend’s match at Celtic Park against Aberdeen, all season ticket holders will also have the chance to pay their respects to one of the Club’s true legends. Paradise, the place Bertie loved so much, will see a further tribute to a man we, in turn, all loved so dearly.
“The Club will ensure that Celtic Park pays a fitting tribute, with season ticket holders given the chance to once again remember and honour Bertie and all he did for Celtic.
“Further details will be announced shortly. “
As stated, Ange Postecoglou’s squad will also be wearing the number 10 shirt on their shorts for Saturday’s game in tribute to the legendary Lisbon Lion.
Although supporters will be looking forward to the Hoops being back in action, it will be an emotional evening for all, given the character Bertie was and how much respect everyone had for him.
Fans will be singing their heart out in honour of the club legend this weekend, who will forever be missed.
