A Celtic source has told RecordSport the club are closely monitoring Arsenal’s attempt to free Kieran Tierney from his current isolation status.

Both Kieran Tierney and aryan Christie have been forced to isolate for two weeks have being in close contact with Stuart Armstrong who tested positive while on Scotland international duty.

Arsenal have a big game against Manchester City coming up this weekend and London club have been working on getting the nod to allow Kieran to play if he continues to test negative.

Celtic are keeping close tabs on developments, the source claims:

“We are watching the situation with Kieran and Arsenal very closely but we will have to wait and see how those discussions go. Obviously, if Arsenal are given permission for him to play on Saturday then it would be difficult to understand why the same would not apply to Ryan.”

As is stands, Christie is out of the derby and even if Tierney was to somehow be allowed to play for the gunners, there’s little guarantee Scottish officials would allow Ryan.

Celtic have the players to cover the midfielders absence. At this moment, more people are concerned about Odsonne Edouard’s status. The Frenchman is due to fly back to Scotland later today.
