TOULOUSE president Damien Comolli seems resigned to losing Vakoun Bayo this summer due to financial constraints at the club.

The French chief made the admission Bayo has a number of options and with his salary already too high for the Ligue 2 side, it looks like hey’ll be parting ways

Comolli also confirmed to SunSport that Toulouse still had their first option clause in place for a number of weeks yet: “As far as Bayo is concerned, we have an option on him that is still applicable for several weeks.

“But in all honesty, the question is mainly financial.

“He is a player who has a very high salary and now has many options too.”

Bayo hasn’t made the grade at Celtic to this point. There’s a slim chance there could be a redemption story for the Ivory Coast man if the new manager sees value in keeping Vakoun around.

If not, the club could look to finally sell Bayo on a permanent deal and use any funds raised in their own rebuild.

Nothing can really happen until we have a manager in place and right now, we just don’t know what the club are doing.

Will Ange Postecoglou be the man? We’re reluctant to hang our hat on any candidate afterwards er the Eddie Howe debacle.
