It was the source of much controversy at the time in January when Celtic attempted to wedge in a trip to Dubai to galvanise their season but it was the final nail in their coffin.

However, there will be no need to cram a warm weather training camp into a few days next year with the return of the winter break.

Stephen McGowan has reported clubs have voted to bring the break back next season which will allow clubs and players to take an extended break during the harsh winter.

People will always point to that ill-fated trip back in January this year but the winter break, used correctly, has always been good to Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers instituted the Dubai trip the first season he was at the club and Neil Lennon continued it last season before the pandemic. This year, the club shouldn’t have gone and Neil Lennon’s tunnel vision to try and get there was a massive issue. In the end, it helped our season unravel to the point of no return.

    • Crazy decision to go, we got what we deserved.
We didnt even heed the seating protcols so had various people seated around Jullien and ended up with 13 close contacts and it didnt look as if the drinking was socially distanced either!
Just like our whole season, a farce from start to finish.
No one to blame but ourselves
