DAN PETRESCU and Cluj haven’t stopped talking since they were paired with Celtic in the Champions League qualifiers.

The former Chelsea player has been in the media constantly talking nonsense and as we approach Tuesday night’s game at Celtic Park – he’s back at it again.

This time he appears to be trying to influence the referee at Celtic Park and making the claim Celtic get 10% more of the decisions when they’re at home.

Speaking to SunSport, the Cluj manager said:

“I just hope the refereeing is fair. It’s normal when you play Celtic in the Champions League and they are at home, the referee gives them an extra ten per cent of the decisions.

“I just hope that doesn’t happen here.”

The Romanian club have been doing their best to try and get under the skin of Celtic before each of these ties. Unfortunately for Dan, it had no influence on the outcome of the first leg with Celtic getting a vital away goal.

Mikey Johnston could be back for the game after missing the first leg and Hatem Elhamed could slit straight back into the team after missing out on the win at Motherwell through injury.

Let’s hope the referee does his job.

  1. Dan should know better. Refs are very seldom swayed by home supporters. They have trained themselfs not to. Isn’t that what the Uefa standard is. He has a point though, but it isn’t how decisions go, it’s how you and your teammates deal with them, in the dugout and on the field of play.

  2. Wee fat Dan talks more sh1te than slippy. Lining up the excuses in case he loses, which after watching the first leg, I suspect we’ll be too much for the mighty clunkers. HH
