CLUJ boss Dan Petrescu isn’t known for his levity and the Romanian is staying true to form with his latest comments involving Celtic.

The Romanian side won their home tie 3-0 on Saturday much to the manager’s delight but after the game he claimed it was an even better victory because of the weather.

Petrescu told the media he never wins when it rains and to use examples he pointed to the Celtic Europa League game and a domestic match against Poli.

“This victory was a new experience for me because it’s the first time I have ever won a match as a manager in the rain.” he told RecordSport.

“It’s true. Look at the games we have lost this season. At Celtic and Poli Iasi. It was torrential rain. I never win in the rain so this is a first for me.”

Celtic exacted a measure of revenge against Petrescu’s side on that evening. Little did we know it was all down to the rain on the night which seen us pick up the three points.

Celtic still have to go over and play Cluj for the final Europa League group game. Let’s hope the weather is right for another Celtic win.
